An outstanding early Welsh Oak Potboard Dresser
A truly exceptional Welsh Oak Pot-board Dresser c1800, purchased by ourselves from a wonderful generational hill farm (for which it was originally made) high in the Cambrian hills above Penuwch in mid Ceredigion. A traditional Ceredigion dresser renown for their simple beauty created by perfect proportions, quality timber and unique understated look. Without doubt one of the prettiest examples of a dresser from this region that we have seen in a long while.
Condition is absolutely outstanding throughout with not a dowel or nail out of place, the colour, patina and skin are breathtaking. It stands at full original height and is superbly solid and sturdy. All drawers are lovely and clean inside and run smoothly with beautiful original handles. The perfect Welsh Dresser in every aspect.
Width of base 5ft 1.5” = 156cm Maximum width at very top 5ft 6” = 167cm. Base height 3ft = 93cm. Base depth 16” = 40cm. Rack depth 5”. Shelf depth 4”. Overall height 6ft 6” = 198cm
