Allerton Gaudy Welsh Oyster Pattern Jug circa 1912
This attractive Gaudy Welsh jug is decorated in Imari colours of iron red cobalt blue, pink, green and copper. The base of the jug carries the Allerton mark introduced in 1912.
The jug is approximately 4 inches (10.2cm) high and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs and very little sign of general age related ware. One can imagine that this jug has spent its life as a display item hanging on a Welsh dresser.
