A Welsh sycamore ladle, a lletwad.
A Welsh sycamore ladle, a lletwad in Welsh and used for stirring and serving spoon food, cawl as it's known hereabouts. Being a light wood, if left standing in the pot, it would rise and be floating horizontally hence the large hook at the top of the handle. The hook also serves to hang it up after use.
