Used in a home for a while but abandoned when something more modern was available, people were embarrassed by using what was perceived in the 20th century as primitive. It was not thought noble as perhaps it is now. This has saved the ladle from growing old and ending up as firewood as most treen did when past it or replaced by something more modern made in a factory!
