A Rare C.Mid 17th Refectory Table
A Charming C.Mid 17th Refectory Table
Measuring approximately 69 1/2" x 29 1/2" x 30" (length, width, height)
A rare pegged and jointed piece with good provenance from Pepper Arden Hall, North Yorkshire.
Raised on diminutive bun feet and turned doric column legs adjoined by periphoral stretchers.
The impressive one piece inch thick slab top over a carved and moulded frieze, the front decorated with flowers and a large central drawer with original iron lock and later loop handles. The opposing side and ends having geometric moulded panels.
The lower edge of the top further decorated with definitive guilloche carving.
This table is in good, original, solid state with some minor blemishes and imperfections commensurate with age. There are a few smatterings of old worm wear around the drawer area but all has been treated as a precaution. There is also an old repair to one corner of the top (please see photos)
