A Late 19thc. Derby Crown Porcelain Co ewer.
Description
A truly superb item, in shape number 328 (see page 98 of John Twitchett's "Royal Crown Derby" for a ewer of identical shape, but different decoration), beautifully hand gilded and painted. Moulded neck. Cobalt ground of jewelled gilt circles, infilled with stars and rosettes, the latter with central enamel "pearls". Flowing handle with gilded mask terminal.
Marked with date cypher for 1886.
Condition
In superb antique condition, save for what appears to be a highly professional repair to the bottom of the handle. No other apparent defects.
