A Late 17th Century Oak Coffer Chest Measuring approximately 54" x 28" x 22.5" (width, height, depth)

A good, clean example raised on stile legs, the three front panels decorated with lozenges, cross hatching lobes and ears of wheat, a pattern synonymous with the Halifax / Bradford region of West Yorkshire. The inch thick top retaining original iron loop hinges revealing an ample clean interior complete with candle compartment.
Condition report. One back leg has an old, sympathetic repair and the lower legs have some plugs. Good, clean original boards throughout
