A highly unusualy Mahogany Bow fronted Chest of Drawers cross banded in Yew wood with Ebony line inlay and double Ebony cock beading to the drawers, retaining all the original locks, brass knob handles and escutcheons, raised on reeded feet. This high quality chest is made by Scottish firm James Mein of Kelso, renowned for creative high quality furntiure in the 19th century. The chest retaining the original and beautiful paper label, inventory number 8617, circa 1820
