A very well executed Georgian mahogany miniature chest of drawers, often referred to as "apprentice pieces" these miniatures were sometimes used as salesman's samples or for window display. This miniature stands on bracket feet and has 3 long and two short drawers, all beautifully dovetailed and retaining their original turned wooden knobs, locks, key and escutcheon's and also a good colour and patina. 320mm high, 260mm wide and 200mm deep. Circa 1800. W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries. Now under the stewardship of Mark and his wife, Louise, we take pride in maintaining the high standards which William set more than 50 years ago.
