A exceptional Victorian figured and Burr walnut English Davenport desk with serpentine shaped front and wonderfully shaped bow back Brass galleried top over leather gilt tooled skiver this opens to reveal a interior fitted with Sycamore which consists of drawers and pigeon holes once the pull on the bottom right is released it allows a stationary compartment to be accessed which opens out and hinges forward , this compartment consists of a pen tray and slope for stamps etc , the drawers on the right hand sides are also curved and Mahogany lined with fine Dove Tail joints the drawers on the right act as dummy drawers for balance , each side of the seating area stands a pair of turned and carved pillars .
A wonderful example of top quality through out .
