2 x Early 20th C. Silver Plate Sauce Ladles
This is a good quality Pair of Early 20th Century Silver Plate Sauce Ladles in the traditional Fiddle pattern. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The sauce ladles are made by KELLEY, which is something of a mystery. The mark is most likely to relate to George B Kelley, head of the Rockford Silver Plate Co in Illinois, USA, who left the company in 1899 and set up his own business. Unfortunately no definite record of the marks he used appears to have survived.
Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents, no significant plate loss and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
Each ladle is 16.7cm / 6.6ins long and 4.3cm / 1.7ins across the bowl. The pair together weigh in at 89.6g / 3.16oz.
Each ladle is stamped on the underside of the stem with KELLEY.
