2 Foot 10
Lovely wee size 2 foot 10" wide George III mahogany chest with a slide or "Batchelors" chest. Very nice flame veneered top with original cross banding. Four long drawers which are oak lined and have their original brass swan neck handles and original iron locks. Slide is oak framed with mahogany facing to match drawers and has the original brass "axe" handles. Original feet and back.
Chest has either been made in two parts as some of the Sussex / Norfolk ones were or else it has been cut at some time in its life. Whatever it is very solid and hardly noticeable and doesn't detract from what in fact is a very good early George III chest of small desirable proportions.
