These chairs are always good on the eye. This example has a lovely patina. The design is of usual form with ash turnings and a lovely elm seat
Elizabeth Gabbitass was the widow of John Gabbitass, the earliest recorded Windsor chairmaker in Worksop. After his death in 1839, Elizabeth continued in business for approximately five years
