Charming late 19th.c. scrap work folding screen or room divider c.1880. Three 24″ wide panels with a densely worked decoration to both sides made of brightly coloured illustrations on paper carefully cut and glued into place. The images used make an interesting reflection of Victorian popular mores, with lots of images of childhood and lady’s fashions, one panel features lots of images of fairies whilst another is dedicated to winter scenes and features several images of St Nicholas. With an ebonised wooden surround and brass hinges and handle. Some minor damage.
