Fabulous early 19th.c. coffer or trunk with original leather covering and decorative studwork c.1820. An exceptional example of the form. Domed lid and front covered in black leather with a lovely design of scrolling foliate forms in contrasting brass studs. With and massive oversized strap hinges and lock plates. Brown leather to sides and rear with the original and unusually shaped carry handles with pierced and shaped backplates. Delightful original lining fabric to the interior. Raised on a later heavy oak stand with turned bun feet. Excellent original colour and patina, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
