19thC French Painted & Upholstered Settee c.1880 Painted settee painted sofa French sofa %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
The painted French two-seater settee of beautiful proportions, showing the original French grey green paint now worn with age, the curved and swept enveloping carcass having scalloped sides and seven fluted tapering legs with floral cartouches, the whole being freshly upholstered in a floral linen fabric of green and pink fronds with double piping, and surviving from the last quarter of nineteenth century France.

The settee is in very good condition having been upholstered recently in a very good House of Hackney linen and then using all of the traditional methods. She is strong and sturdy and ready for daily use. There is a small amount of old sporadic worm to the frame but it is long gone and only in a very small quantity.

Of a particularly desirable shape and size, this ticks all of the boxes. Stunning.
