Very good quality late 19th.c. dinner gong c.1880. Large rectangular brass gong with a patterned front, hung on a heavy cast brass yoke with leaf detail and large finials. Twist carved oak columns with brass mounts, oak base board and brass bun feet. Sold complete with original clapper. No maker’s name but very much of the quality and style of James Shoolbred & Co. Excellent condition and good tone to gong. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
