Good quality mid 19th.c. classical brass statue of a man trying to tame a rearing horse c.1860. A popular subject, after the pair of huge marble originals commissioned by Louis XIV for the Chateau de Marly, they were produced in large quanities (and varying quality) during the 19th century and are often referred to as ‘Marly horses’. A particulrly good example here, cast in heavy gague brass and standing 19″ tall. Good condition, missing the reins. Please contact us for more images, delivery and shipping quotes. Alternatively you are welcome to view and collect at our large warehouse showroom in Llandudno Junction, North Wales (approximately 45mins from Chester). We have a large and ever changing selection of genuine good quality antique furniture of all types and have twice been shortlisted for the Home and Antiques Magazine Antique Shop of the Year Award. 01492 580022.
