This is a good example of a well made and decorated Japanese Imari scallop edge medium size bowl,(likely a fruit bowl), designed as export porcelain from ARITA Japan, in the Imari palette of underglaze blue and red and dating from the late 19th to early 20th century Meiji (circa 1900). The internal and external decoration is a combination of foliate decor and mythical bird (cranes) and landscape. It is worth noting the above average design detail to the inside base with three stylized Chrysanthemums on an elaborate blue patterned background.

Condition, there are no faults and it is in undamaged and excellent condition.
