This is a finely painted antique Chinese watercolour on silk depicting a Chinese artisan with yolk carrying apparatus loaded with a scribes scrolls. The painting is skilfully executed in water based gouache colours on silk. The silk is slightly rippled under the glass with some small areas of discolouration due to age but intact, with no tears or damage. This is a charming image recording Chinese social history with much character. The picture measures 38 cms by 30 cms overall, including the frame.
