19C Victorian pine kitchen scrub top dining table
Antique 19th Century Victorian (or earlier) pine kitchen scrub top dining table with a lift up top and storage compartment.
This is a beautiful item, with a lovely age, colour and patina, with a wax finish.
Possibly originating from the European Continent, this table is very unusual and different.
The table is solid with no loose legs, and the top lifts up to reveal a storage compartment (later hinges).
A magnificent cross stretcher base, lovely proportions and styling, with a great look and full of charm.
1250mmL x 830mmW x 810mmH (625mm high knee hole).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and desirable for this type of item. There is some historic woodworm (believed extinct), that we have treated for good measure and adds to the charm and rustic appeal. There have been alterations to the lift up top, which has later hinges and may have slid originally. The table appears to have been stripped at some point in its life and a medium wax finish added. There is no stay to hold the top open, but we would be happy to fit one for an additional £25 if required....please call 07866 705199 or email mark@priorandwillis.co.uk to discuss.
