1920’s Walnut nest of tables Nest quartetto %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
1920’s Walnut nest of tables
This walnut nest of antique tables was made in a top cabinetmakers workshop in the 1920’s.
Made in fine walnut with burr walnut tops with a good deep cross banding.
The top of each of the 4 tables have a fine bead inset around the edge, this was to stop items sliding off if the tables were knocked.
These were made in the ‘age of elegance’ where refinement was very important in the design and style of items made.
This nest of tables consists of 4 that reduce in size so that they fit together and then slide into the largest table.
Each of the 4 tables have fine double turned supports to each end that are joined by sleigh feet and a curved back rail. The feet with line inlay.
Nests of tables are very good for the modern home as they can be stacked together when not being used, but then become 4 occasional tables when you have guests.
47cms wide largest table (18 1/2ins)
30cms deep (12ins)
73cms high (28 1/2ins)
All dimensions are approximate
