1915 Keeling Losol Ware "Athole" Pot Dresser Box
#AD088: Staffordshire Dresser Box
This is a beautiful and dreamy old Edwardian era flow blue art nouveau English pottery potted lid, dresser or powder box marked Losol Ware in the "Athole" Pattern. It dates from the circa 1915 WWI or WW1 era, and features a stunning pink rose in Keeling's trademark blue and white pattern.
These Losol pieces are collectible and hard to find, especially the dresser boxes. Keeling & Co produced high quality earthenwares from 1886 to the 1930's at the Dale Hall Works, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.
The mark on bottom of this Keeling Losol piece reads:
Losol Ware, "Athole"
Keeling & Co Ltd.
Burslem, England (with a royal crown)
Note: Ltd was in use in their mark after 1909, and in general the collectible Losol Ware line was up and running from 1912-1936. This is a beautiful old English 20th century dresser box that we were happy to find. The pattern is named after Atholl, Athole or the Scottish Gaelic Athall in the Scottish Highlands, in the northern part of Perth and Kinross, Scotland.
Click images to see condition in very close up and movable views. It was found in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales, in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. We have 2 Losol boxes on our site, see other here. Condition is wonderful.
Size: 3.5 inches diameter x 1.75 inches height ——We have a 100% approval policy. For any questions, email Debra at the contact box below. Thank you, ~debra
