18thC Welsh Oak Sea Captains Chest
A rare late 18th Century Welsh sea captains chest from Glamorganshire.
Of simple functional design with superb form and proportions, well figured oak and in excellent original condition this chest is rather special. Featuring a sloping front to aid stability on stormy seas, strong oak carrying handles, strap hinges and three locks this chest was built with purpose. The interior fitted with candle box and drawer (one a historical loss). Displaying superb colour throughout with only a small number of historic chips it stands very well.

All our antique furniture is finished to the very highest standard ensuring they continue to have long and serviceable life).
The back boards are in great order and it would make well for an occasional or coffee table or would look good positioned against a wall.
