18th.c. Welsh Oak High Back Box Settle c.1760. %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Mid 18th.c. Welsh oak high back box settle c.1760. A little longer than many we see, the back rest having five raised and fielded panels. Gracefully shaped arms on tapered front stiles over a three panel base with lots of useful storage inside, accessed via a loose section at the centre of the seat. A great example of the form, solid oak throughout aged and worn to a superb colour and patina. Excellent condition with some replacement floorboards, otherwise original throughout. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
