18thC Welsh Oak Hanging Linen Press Wardrobe
A beautiful late 18th Century Welsh oak hanging press cupboard of superb quality from Carmarthenshire.
Featuring quality fielded panels and some of the most wonderfully figured oak throughout we have seen on a press cupboard, with superb surface and colour and with pretty ogee fielded panel doors, a traditional strong Welsh design of high quality.
A great looking piece offering extensive storage to the upper wardrobe cupboard fitted with original oak peg hooks (can be fitted with an additional pole to make a modern wardrobe arrangement should you require) above four false drawers over 4 fully working drawers. The space behind the four fake drawers is taken up by the bottom of the hanging space and an ideal place for shoes etc.
In excellent condition with just one small historic chip repair to one corner moulding and historic repairs to the bracket feet, period replaced handles and repair to one upper moulding, none of which are noticeable. This piece has always been cared for and remains strong and stable and suitable for daily use.
