A superb mid 18th.c Welsh oak Cwpwrdd Tridarn or three piece cupboard c.1760. Well proprtioned canopy top over a middle section of three shaped and fielded panel doors. The base features three drawers and a two door cupboard with matching panels. The centre door hides a fitted 'spice drawer' interior and opens and locks with an ingenious and original mechanism hidden inside the right hand cupboard which is itself lockable with a key. A fine example of a form of antique furniture unique to North West Wales, precursor of the classic Welsh dresser. Of solid oak construction throughout, excellent colour and condition. The handles are later replacements, otherwise original through.
