An attractive early 18th.Century style walnut bureau bookcase. The bookcase section having a bold architectural and cross grain moulded pediment above the two cross banded doors which have solid walnut cross grain astragal glazing bars. The doors open to reveal the original green painted interior with three adjustable shelves. The bureau interior is fitted with 4 bow fronted and cross banded drawers with shaped pigeon holes and a centre lockable door. The fall supported on 2 lopers and having a re-placed green leather writing surface with blind and gold tooling. The exterior having good book matched walnut veneers with herring bone inlay and cross banding throughout. The whole stands on off set bracket feet with further cross grain mouldings which are a sign of good quality. Complete with original etched brass handles and escutcheons and working locks with keys. Dimensions :- Height…81’’/ 206cm. Width…31’’/ 79cm. Depth…17.75’’/ 45cm. Interior Shelf Depth…7.5’’/ 19cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £85.
