Delightful little mid 18th.c. oak North Wales cwpwrdd tridarn or three piece cupboard c.1740. Unusually small being just 51″ wide and 72″ tall. Top piece with turned columns, panelled backboards and sides. Middle piece with moulded cornice, particularly good turned droppers and two doors with delightful little raised and fielded ogee panels either side of a matching fixed centre panel. Plus superb parquetry inlay in bog oak and holly around the outer frame. Base section with three drawers over a two door cupboard. Raised and fielded drawer fronts and panels to the doors and sides. Original backboards. With incised initials IW to the left hand front stile. Some later restorations, most obviously new linings to the right hand drawer. Otherwise a superb example of the form in excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
