18thC French Faience Lille Jacqueline Pitcher
Superb rare 18th century French faience pottery pitcher from Lille in the "Jacqueline" form with a pewter hinged pottery lid. A tin glazed lady sitting on a grass mound, with her feet out in front of a bonfire I understand in the story of the piece. A pale bluish grey glaze with distinctive decoration of the clothes and apron. Blackened base with the number 5270 over-painted and the same also painted inside the head. Large strap handle with pewter fittings to the lid.
She measures 30.5cm (12") high, 14.5cm (5 3/4") wide and 28cm (11") deep. Condition is very good for age: there are a few glaze losses and light fritting and a few chips to the edge of the base. A small chip to the tip of the spout and the side of the rim under the lid. No restoration and the hinge is also fine.
Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
