18thC Derby Figure Jupiter With Eagle c.1775
A very nice Derby figure of Jupiter set on a square base with an eagle to his side. He holds thunderbolts in both hands and is dressed in fine robes painted in polychrome enamels with a red crown on his head. Incised model number N117, c.1775. Illustrated in Derby Porcelain by Barrett and Thorpe, plate 91.
It measures 7 1/4" (18.5cm) high, 3 1/4" (8.3cm) wide and 2 3/4" (7cm) deep. Condition is very good: there has been some very good quality restoration to both arms, a very small section of the peach robe and a repaired break to his left leg at the join of the robes. Surface wear is light, one of the small balls on his crown is missing and some rubbing to the gilt band around the base. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
