Lovely little 18th.c. oak chest or coffer c.1740. Three panel lid with moulded rails over a particularly good decorative front featuring an unusual lunette carved top rail over a pair of panels with delightful flowering plant detail. Original hoop hinges to the lid, fitted with a small compartment to the interior. Later iron lockplate. Panelled sides and rear, oak floor boards. Retaining the original length stiles. Excellent condition with particularly good colour and patina, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
