Handsome 18th century bench / hall seat / settle in excellent antique condition made from solid oak. The quality of the carving is very good with the back rest and front profusely decorated. Three carved panels to the back rest depict soldiers in historical dress. Like all antiques there are some imperfections and there are signs of historical repairs and historic woodworm (long gone) however the overall condition is good with wonderful patina and rich deep colouring that has developed naturally over the years. There is a small section in the centre of the seat that slides out to allowing access to the storage area ideal for shoes, boots and or bags. This is a very practical useful piece of antique furniture that will look great in any hall way or kitchen.
