An Excellent Quality 18th Century Italian Walnut Coffer with Carved Trusses.

This lovely coffer dates from the turn of the 18th century and consists of a single piece top of excellent dark colour and patination, above a carved apron moulding and panelled front and sides. The corner trusses are well executed and consist of bulbous forms with carved leafy ornament. These trusses are supported on stepped plinth mouldings and then on carved paw feet. The interior of the coffer is very simple with one large compartment and a smaller lidded one to one side.

Having a wonderful colour throughout and retains a superb patination.
