18C Georgian elm coffer mule chest trunk log baske
A rare find, this is a beautiful 18th Century elm coffer with later carving (possibly 19C).
There is some historical distortion to the lid.
Amazing proportions and Gothic styling, with nice patination.
Solid, with no loose joints, full of charm and character...these are really hard to find.
Overall maximum dimensions
1300mmW x 400mmD x 490mmH.
Internal dimensions 1210mmW x 340mmD x 335mmH (inc. candle tray).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with antique furniture. There is no key and the lock is consequently untested. Historical extinct woodworm that we have treated for good measure, as is always the way with period elm. The hinges are possibly later.
Stock No. 3222.
