W.A.S. BENSON (1854-1924) No. 1140 ARTS AND CRAFTS BRASS AND VASELINE GLASS TABLE LAMP, CIRCA 1905


Rare authentic antique William Arthur Smith Benson brass table lamp on tripod base with heart and leaf shaped feet & patent W.A.S. Benson pill box light switch. Complete and original with beautiful antique vaseline glass period shade showing botanical emblems complementing its base design making this a superb example of Benson lighting at its best. Model number 1140 in the W.A.S. Benson original trade catalogue - Ref: see WAS Benson book by Ian Hamerton p259 pl 16.

Size: 42cm high.

Marks: Clearly stamped Benson mark to base.

Condition: Excellent original condition in full working order with original patented W.A.S. Benson in-built light switch. The antique vaseline glass shade is completely unblemished. Rewired with antique style silk flex & ready to use.
