Vintage 1920s Flaxite Steamer Trunk

This attractive vintage steamer trunk dates from around the 1920s. It has Flaxite Foundation plaques to either side of the lid. The trunk has a thin wooden frame with a stiff canvas covering. It has leather corners, straps and handles, metal studs and wooden batoning to the bottom. It retains its original lined interior with lift-out tray. It retains its metal clasps and lock, although please note that no key is present. There are various luggage labels on the exterior.
Condition: Overall in fair-good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The trunk is grubby and has some scuffing and wear. It is overall a little squashed. The leather-work is scuffed and the metal-work has some rusting. The piece would benefit from a careful clean and polish. The interior has some tearing to the fabric.

29.5cm high, 76cm wide, 51cm deep (to maximums).
