This is an absolutely stunning Persian Kashan prayer rug with exquisite detail woven in pure silk. It has a profusely decorated central mihrab decorated with exotic birds and foliage surmounted with splendid pheasants set in midnight blue spandrels. The borders again are superbly detailed with a multitude of birds flowers and trees. The rug has a very high knot count which gives it wonderful detail and the pile is deep and lush. The colours are rich and vibrant and this is in excellent condition. The rug measures 156cm by 101cm.
