This striking Art Nouveau brass tea caddy was made by Joseph Sankey & Sons in Bilston, near Wolverhampton and dates to the early 1900s. Joseph Sankey & Sons were a huge and highly successful metalware company that was founded in 1891, although the company's roots go back to the 1860s. They produced a vast range of products but for collectors they are best known for their decorative copper and brass hollowware produced between around 1900 and the start of WW1.

This brass tea caddy is a size 4, which means it holds 4oz of loose tea. It has an oval shape with an embossed Art Nouveau motif on the front. It is stamped on the bottom JS&S for Joseph Sankey & Son, along with the figure 4 showing it is a 4oz size.

The caddy is 10.5cm high to the top of the lid and 9.4cm in width.
