Finest quality Iranian Isfahan rug of a beautiful design. Bought by the previous owner in the 1970's at considerable expense. The rug is wool woven on silk. This beautiful rug has a light blue floral border with a red background centre with central motif with a green design at the corners with interwoven dragons. The main part of the rug is woven with various birds amongst flowers and foliage. The knots are tightest I have ever seen on rug, there must be tens of thousands of knots in this rug if not more.

The condition is basically pretty good apart from the fringe has been cut on one end. There were minor stains on it but having cleaned it once most of these have disappeared completely, it would be gently washed again if required.

The original cloth label is still on the back with the size, number and "WOVEN IN IRAN" marked on it.
