Fine Chinese Export Lacquer Tea Caddy from Lee Ching Canton


A fine and pristine Chinese Export tea caddy from the bespoke retailer Lee Ching of Canton. The wonderful shaped body having very fine gilding with decorative panels of Chinese scenes. The interior retaining the 2 original caddies and unusually the original packing materials with stamp for Lee Ching. The caddy is raised on dragon’s head feet and has brass hinges, escutcheon and key.
Lee Ching was an important retailer in Canton making quality items for Westerners in the late 19th.Century. The condition of this caddy is exceptional and has probably never been used having some of the original packaging materials. Dimensions:- Height…6.25’’/ 16cm. Width…9.5’’/ 24cm. Depth…7’’/ 18cm.
