A Fine and Rare Arts and Crafts Copper Chamberstick by the Newlyn School of Industrial Arts, Cornwall, England. Of square, handled form it features a Fanciful design of 2 large stylised fish with dramatically oversized fins and tails swimming amongst seaweed and bubbles set against a textured ground. The candle holder is attached with exposed rivet work and the corners are unusually turned over (outwards). All wrought by hand and all truly beautiful! Measures 9" x 5". I've classified the chamberstick as an early version based on the style of the fish- in later years they became more realistic in their execution.
