Extraordinary carved oak standard lamp c.1920. Hexagonal column beautifully carved at the top with three faces amongst acanthus leaves, representing the ages of man – youth, middle age and old age. Further carved bands towards the base of the column and raised on oversized pierced scrolling acanthus leaf bracket legs, terminating in unusual hoof feet. Unusually the column also supports a useful hexagonal wine table with a raised edge and carved apron. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed. Rewired and sold with a PAT test certificate.
