Antique Tekke Turkman Carpet / Rug Emirate of Bukh handwoven woollen eastern %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This is a very nice example of a Tekke Turkman carpet from the Emirate of Bukhara which dates from the late 19th century. The carpet has three rows of ten quartered Tekke guls, multiple borders and a further lattice decorated border to each end. The wool is really quite soft and the carpet has some beautifully vibrant shades of soft rich reds amongst its palette. The carpet is in good order with very minor losses to the ends and a close even pile. It measures 165 cms by 117 cms.
