This rare and interesting example of an English Victorian luxury Huntley and Palmers biscuit tin is made from printed tin plate and duplicates with great detail a 19th century Raj period sandalwood and ivory inlaid jewellery box with carved panels depicting elephants and lions. Huntley and palmer produced these luxury tins to store and display their biscuits in high-quality retail shops such as Selfridges and Harrods of London.
