A great pair of Black Forest carved wood deer heads. The deer are beautifully carved in linden wood and have been naturalistically painted. The quality of the work is very good and the pieces are very lifelike. They are a true pair as they slightly turn to face each other. The works are smaller than life-size probably half size. The condition is good with some minor damage to the tops of the antlers and a repair to one of the shields. A great pair of decorative carvings with a wonderful look. C.1920.
