We are pleased to offer for sale this Victorian heavy Gothic Brass Candlestick, which has been converted at some stage into a Table Lamp, and its new silk shade from the makers of the Downton Abbey, Peaky Blinders, Mr. Selfridge TV series lampshades.

The Lamp stand on three circular brass feet and has a floral ornamented section running around the base. It has a multi turned column supporting a bowl with castellations nd a candle sconce, in typical Gothic style and similar to candlesticks often found in an ecclesiastical setting, although with no religious piercings or patterns.

The shade is in the 'Maia' style and is made of Black Silk, embroidered with tendrils and leaves in gold and rust. It has a soft gold fringe, black and gold braid and black and gold beaded tassels.

The lamp has been completely rewired in pale gold coloured fabric covered braided flex in the antique manner and features all new fittings, including a safer switched lampholder, shade carrier and plug. As with all electrical items it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician before use.

Condition: Very very good. There is no apparent damage to the candlestick and the shade is new. Please see the last paragraph for the details of the wiring
