19th century simulated stone plaster bust C 1860
A large 19th century simulated stone plaster bust of a medieval gentleman
This most impressive life sized characterful plaster bust dates to circa 1860. It is very finely modelled and depicts a medieval gentleman wearing a simple hat and tunic top. The features of his face are brilliantly defined.
This large plaster bust has a painted simulated stone finish which is in excellent condition giving this piece a perfect country house interior look.
There is a lightly inscribed name and date on the base which is Brookes 1203.
French, circa 1860. In good condition
Height 56cm x width 24cm x depth 30cm
