This highly ornate and rare 19th century brass oil lamp is patented by Rippingilles, an established firm of the period that dealt with lighting and stoves. The oil lamp has a bell incorporated underneath the cut-glass reservoir and a disguised ink well in the brass base, complete with the original white ceramic cup. It is clearly stamped at the base and comes complete with the glass shade and funnel. It measures approximately 8 in – 20.3 cm in diameter and 24 in – 61 cm high from the top of the funnel. The lamp would make a lovely and very useable light as well as make a great feature piece for many rooms. Thomas Crabb Antiques was founded in 1979 and is run by Stephen Roy Thomas.
