Advertising shops and businesses, most long gone, this stationery holder would have been placed in the reception of a hotel is a snap shot of 1920s Brighton. The gilt lettering is all original and contemporary to the piece advertising local businesses from the famous Hanningtons department store, G & W Morton the bootmakers in Western Avenue to Princess Laundries and the Sussex Goldsmith and Silversmiths. In all twelve local businesses chose to take the opportunity to advertise in the hotel. The rack is divided into five sections with a fold down surface of green baize, useful for scribbling on those postcards reporting home with tales of a fabulous day at the 1920s Brighton seaside.

A truly rare and perhaps unique surviving piece of early 20th century Brighton history.
